Transaction banking has become the darling of the banking industry and since the financial crisis has been given more attention because of its stable returns. And despite the continued difficulties in the global economy, the mood of transaction bankers is one of optimism. However, there are challenges and competitive pressures that remain, and transaction bankers need to navigate a path between the pressures of regulation while also staying focused on innovation and operating efficiently. At a recent round table hosted by The Banker, a panel of industry experts discussed these issues and how they are often intertwined.
