Interview with Anders Borg: Minister for Finance, Sweden
Jan 21 2013
Sweden's finance minister Anders Borg has strong views about bank bail-outs. With moves towards a banking union for the eurozone, he maintains that responsibility for bailing out banks should still rest with national governments. He also thinks that from a practical point of view bondholders cannot lose out when a bank gets into trouble without causing a general panic. But, he argues, if done properly governments should make money out of bailing out banks. He shared these ideas in a video interview with The Banker's editor Brian Caplen.
